De Hoop was east of Artois and had this name until the 1960's but it would appear that the name has changed now. Artois (1714) and De Hoop were respectively 64 and 57 morgen in size. After the death of his mother, Cecilia, he inherited De Soete Inval in Paarl. Children (12) x Paarl.1698, Elisabeth PRéVOT (d.o. Charles PRéVOT & Marie LE FEVRE), ∗ Marq, France 31.10.1683, † Tulbagh 18.01.1750 xx Christian GOBRECHTS (1686- 1732). After her divorce from Christian Gobrechts she had to buy back Artois and De Hoop from him, as he by the law of that time became the owner of all three her farms through marriage. After her divorce from Gobrechts she lived on her farm Artois.

Dankie Schalk, ek weet dat Delia Robertson / James Ball se weberf 'n baie goeie sekondêre bron van informasie is, hoewel dit seker nie die enigste en mees betroubare bron is nie (dit is hooguit die primêre bronne self - die doop sertifikate en selfs hulle kan veraderlik wees as dit gaan om gegevens van 300 jaar gelede) dit beteken dat die merge anders om moet - en dat hierdie profiel ge PPP (Project Profile Protected) moet word.

Des Prez-3 and Du Preez-450 are not ready to be merged because: Schalk, ek wil eers weet watter van (LNAB) op die doopsertifikaat staan. As dit des_Prez-3 is soos ek vermoed dit is, moet die merge daarin gaan nie nie in du Preez-450 nie (hoewel du_Preez-450 wél die goeie spelling het van die klein 'd' van die tussenvoegsel. As du_Preez-450 wél die goeie keuse is, is die vraag is dan was die van met 'n 's' of met 'n 'z' afgerond). Daarom wil ek dat ons eers die rekords self opsoek - dit is nie so moeilik nie, kos my alleen enorm veel tyd) voordat ons merges sommer voorstel.
